Dr. Reininger is Board Certified in both Geriatrics and
Internal Medicine and has been practicing in Katy since 1981. He is an
honors graduate from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston,
Texas. He also holds a degree in Business Administration from the
University of Houston where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He has been
Board Certified in Geriatrics since 1987 and continues to expand his
knowledge base earning the AMA distinguished Physician Award during
1993-2006. Dr. Reininger is the former Chief of Staff of Katy Medical
Center, currently serves as Medical Director for the West Harris County
Emergency Medical Service, and he is active in a variety of charitable
projects. He is a native Houstonian and enjoys, opera, golf, social
dancing and traveling with his two children.
Dr. Ramon A. Solis, Jr. is a native Texan from the Golden
Triangle. He majored in Biology at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
He received his medical education from the University of Texas Medical
School at Houston. His internship and residency were in Internal
Medicine and Pediatrics. He became Board Certified in Internal Medicine
in 1992. He is the recipient of the American Association Physicians
Recognition Award, 2002-2005. Dr. Solis has received honors in
Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care, Neurology, and Nephrology. He is a
member of the American College of Physicians and Texas Medical
Association and has served on numerous committees involving medical
care: Co-Director of Katy Hospital Ethics Committee 1996-2002, Chairman
of the ICU Committee at Katy Hospital 1998-2000, Chief of Staff at
Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital 2005-2007, and past president of the Katy
American Heart Association. Dr. Solis is a highly desired speaker
regarding wellness, prevention, traditional and complimentary
therapies. He is an accomplished poet, musician, active in Qigong, Tai
Chi and Meditation. He is 15th generation Wudang Zhang Sanfeng lineage
Tai Chi and 26th generation student of Wudang Longmen Pai.
Dr. Mehta is a former National Merit Scholar who
received his medical degree in medicine and surgery from Saurashtra
University, MP Shah Medical College in Jamngar, India in 1986. He scored
in the top 2% of his class. His post-graduate experience includes working
as a research assistant at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Additionally, he has worked at St. Johns Episcopal Hospital, affiliated
with State University of New York, Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, and with Mount Sinai School of Medicine at North General Hospital in
New York. Most recently, he comes from Lafayette, Louisiana, where he
practiced for seven years with another internal medicine group. He moved
to the Katy area four years ago to be closer to his family. Dr. Metha is
Board Certified in Internal Medicine. His special interests include
diabetes, geriatrics and preventative medicine. He enjoys golfing,
spending time with his family and he loves a good joke.
Dr.
Chung was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He recently moved to the Katy area to
live with his wife and to raise his family. He majored in microbiology and
minored in biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma where he graduated
Magna Cum Laude in 1995. He received his medical education from the
University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. He then completed three
years of post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at Loyola University
Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Chung is Board Certified in Internal
Medicine with special interests in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and
preventative medicine. He is a connoisseur of the fine arts and exotic
foods. He enjoys tennis, golf, skiing and ballroom dancing.
Dr.
Vish Kalapatapu is the newest member of Katy Internal Medicine
Associates, having joined the practice in January 2007. He was in
private practice for six years in Savannah, Georgia, and has returned
home to Katy to continue his medical career. Growing up in Katy, he
attended Memorial Parkway Junior High and Katy Taylor High School.
After graduating with honors, he attended the prestigious Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, where he obtained a B. S. in
Chemical Engineering. He enrolled in the AUC School of Medicine and
completed his clinical rotations in Chicago, IL, and completed his
Internal Medicine Residency in Savannah, GA. Board Certified in 2001,
he built a successful practice in Savannah and had key leadership roles
at Memorial Health University Medical Center. He was Vice
Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and chaired the
hospital’s committee on Quality Improvements. Dr. Kalapatapu enjoys
spending time with his wife, two children and his local extended family. He is
an avid sports fan, enjoys movies and playing golf.
